The Bhagavad Gita reminds us “what is suitable for someone ascending the hill of yoga is different from what is suitable for someone at the top of the mountain.” (6:3)
No need to compare with others. No need to compare with the state you were in back then. No need to compare with your imaginary wishful super-self. See yourself clearly. Know that your present state is a result of your previous actions. And start from there, that is what is suitable for you.
Every moment we start from where we are in this moment. To try to start from somewhere else is ignorance.
Note, there is no judgement in this. Whereever you are, which is where you start at this moment, is perfectly fine. It couldn’t be any other way.
